When things don't go according to plan...

Something to look forward to this month...

Dear Friends,

It's been a long while since I last posted on the blog... and to be honest it's hard to get my mojo back today. I have been as busy in January as I was last December but happy to say that everything went well! I ran three successful workshops {read more about it here} and prepared a party table styling for a Japanese magazine due to launch at the end of April 2014 at the 37th Hobby Show in Tokyo.

All pictures are top secret until the launch and all I can share is that it was a birthday party for kids and the shoot involved kids in costumes. I also created a wall mural decoration with masking tapes {thank you mt Japan for sponsoring your beloved tapes!}. I even baked a birthday cake as we had initially planned to throw a real birthday party for my son that same afternoon.

That was without expecting Influenza A to crash our weekend and mess up with all my plans. We had to cancel the afternoon party, and I threw away my dream of a relaxing weekend doing nothing cleaning up my house AND catching up with emails AND writing my blog posts.
Nope, none of that happen. My body and mind refused to do any of the above, and I just looked after my kids and tried to catch some sleep in between.

It wasn't long before I started to feel weak as well, and when the doctor told me I had caught the naughty virus, I thought: CATASTROPHE! I can't be sick! I have a long-time-overdue lunch on Tuesday, a get-together lunch with mums at school I have organised on Wednesday + my son's birthday and a workshop on Thursday.

Can I please be sick the week of the 17th instead? because I have nothing planned that week.

Well, of course that favour was denied to me and I had to lay down and rest. And rest some more. And take the awful medicine that leaves a yucky taste in your mouth.

It's nearly over now, kids have been allowed to get back to school today and I am slowly putting myself together again - house is clean, laundry is done, ironing is done [the next load is already on the way though!] and I've even written a new to-do list. Ha haaaa!!

I need to pay tribute to the most important person in my life now, my better half, my darling, the love of my life, the man of my dreams, the best father on the face of earth and the most wonderful cook I got to know. He made this past few days a lot sweeter & easier than they were going to be without him.

Love - and YOU, are all I need ♥
