Uguisu, the little shoppe {Tokyo}

I have finally made some time last week to visit Uguisu, a sweet little shop nestled in Azabudai between Roppongi & Kamiyacho stations. I initially heard about it a year ago from a friend and I met shop owner Hiki at an exhibition at Gallery Doux Dimanche, but somehow I didn't manage to go until last Friday. Well, it's a shame because this shop is a little gem. The perfect place to purchase gorgeous and unique handmade gifts by local and international artists. Hiki speaks perfect English too and will happily assist you in your shopping. Here below is a glimpse at the delicious atmosphere of Uguisu the little shoppe. Enjoy!

Pictures above summarise quite well all what I would have loved to take away with me from Uguisu... The poetic ceramic jewellery by Kimiko Suzuki, Aiko Fukawa's illustrations, the glass jewellery pieces by Harrys or the antique looking silver necklaces by Jona. Not to forget the beaded accessories by Midori Sanada (HARVEST) or Emma Cassi...

Uguisu is the name for a little Japanese bird whose enchanting singing voice is a sign of the arrival of Spring. Very charming indeed...

I went back home with a cat illustration by Ai, a stamp by Mihoko Seki, super cute paper balloons by Isono (the last company in Japan to produce these traditional toys) and a heart-shaped card. Uguisu is also selling the colorful vases by Polkaros, as featured on the postcard in my photo above.
