TRAVEL Paris | Eating local food at Chez Victor

While in Paris (read my previous post here), we were introduced to a new and lovely place in the 14th district (métro station Pernety) called Chez Victor - that had opened early December 2017.

Created and run by Victor Brun, the épicerie and restaurant is committed to propose fresh produce (vegetables, eggs, cold meats, drinks etc...) that come from maximum 100 kms from the center of Paris. Victor proposes simple yet delicious lunches Monday through Saturday and has recently launched his first Saturday brunch (booked out within a couple of days!).

I was charmed by the decoration of the space and the attention to details: the menu has been laser printed on wood, the floor recreates the effect of a Parisian apartment's wooden floor and the space is kids friendly too!

We wish Victor much success in his F&B venture and hope to visit again this year!

Loving the blue shade & the logo!
The épicerie side with fresh veggies, eggs and dry foods...
... and drinks of course (beer, wine, lemonade, sirups)!
Fresh eggs
Everything comes from no more than 100 kms from Paris
Cool & green decor!
Kids approved!
Loved the design of the floor!
Self-service area for lunch
Laser printed menu on wood
Fake and real plants: which one is which?

73 rue Pernety
Paris, France 75014

Closed Monday & Sunday

Another restaurant to mention in the same street would be Papy aux Fourneaux
The 14th district is worth exploring!!

TRAVEL PARIS | Starting the new year in the city of lights

Le Sacré-Coeur seen from the top floor of Galeries Lafayette

Paris is always a good idea 🎶

We visited the city of lights again right after Christmas and spent New Year's Eve there. Just a few days away from our daily routine and our quiet country side life.
As you can probably tell from the photos, the weather was awful! It didn't matter so much though because we had planned to visit museums rather than explore each and every corner of the town.

We went to the Picasso museum, the Museum of Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac and the Galerie de l'Evolution. We unfortunately missed the Dior exhibition at Les Arts Décoratifs, there was too many people (a 5-hour queue!) and I had not booked the tickets prior to going... dommage!

We also paid our yearly visit to the kitchen shop E.Dehillerin near Les Halles, discovered Chez Victor near station Pernety and the pâtisserie Karamel at Les Invalides.

Overall a nice 4-day family trip with two children who ♡ going to Paris!

Not a good day to go up the Eiffel tower...
Walking by the Seine river
Street view in Ile de la Cité
At the Picasso museum (book your tickets to avoid the queue)
My favorite painting by Picasso
At E.Dehillerin near les Halles - since 1820
Théâtre de la Comédie Italienne, currently closed
Lovely decoration at Chez Victor
Arcades at the Palais Royal
Sugar land at Les Galeries Lafayette
Place Vendôme with the shop windows of the high jewelry brands
The new Louis Vuitton store in Place Vendôme!

Happy New Year!
At the Museum of Quay Branly
Les Fables de la Fontaine restaurant, rue St Dominique
Le "goûter avec les copines" at Karamel Paris - really good!
A pretty model in front of the Serge Lutens boutique at Palais Royal

I can't wait to go to Paris again!!

NEW RETAILER ♡ KéTaLa boutique in Lausanne

A selection of the pieces made for KéTaLa...

Hello friends,

This post is long overdue as I want to introduce you to the first retailer shop in Switzerland to carry my embroidery products! I discovered KéTaLa boutique through Instagram and my dear friend Natacha Plano and last September I was brave enough to pitch the owner and get an appointment at the shop in Lausanne.

We had an excellent contact and it was a pleasure to discover the shop in person, and explore it. The decoration & atmosphere is unique as well as the selection of pieces, including many hype or up-and-coming designers from elsewhere in Europe (Agnès de Verneuil, Aurore Havenne, Myriam Maitamar, LYLAN, etc...). The kind of shop where you can find the perfect gift for a friend and where you wish your friends would get your birthday present 😉

Iwona picked some items among the existing pieces I had brought with me, and added a selection of custom made designs following a different color scheme - like darker colors or on a black felt base. I was pleased with the result, and I hope our collaboration will continue in 2018!

I hope to share more about the city of Lausanne in the future, I am loving this town which is by the Léman lake and facing the French Alps - so beautiful!
